Cooking Earth is a short handbook of concepts, case studies and speculations by the food philosophy platform Black Almanac. Originally published to accompany a programme of guest lectures, dinners and workshops at Medialab-Matadero, a cultural space and citizen lab in Madrid, the book’s 22 bite-sized chapters reject contemporary pastoral nostalgia and widespread culinary conservatism to argue for an equitable, sustainable food future based on the three core tenets of artificiality, alienation and desire.
